HHCGA y los Consulados Latinoamericanos Para Mejorar la Salud


A lo largo de los años, la HHCGA ha colaborado estrechamente con varios consulados latinoamericanos en Atlanta, incluyendo los de Perú, El Salvador, Guatemala, México, República Dominicana, entre otros. Estas colaboraciones han sido fundamentales para el éxito de nuestra misión de brindar servicios de salud y bienestar, y han permitido fortalecer los lazos entre nuestras comunidades.

La HHCGA valora enormemente estas alianzas, ya que los consulados desempeñan un papel crucial en la conexión con las comunidades latinoamericanas locales. Trabajar junto a ellos nos permite llegar a más personas y ofrecer una red de apoyo más amplia y efectiva, asegurando que las necesidades de salud de la comunidad sean atendidas de manera integral y oportuna.

El lunes 15 de julio, la Coalición Hispana de Salud de Georgia (HHCGA, por sus siglas en inglés) fue invitada por el Consulado de Colombia en Atlanta a participar en su iniciativa "Consulados del Cambio - Capítulo Atlanta", organizada por Colombia Nos Une. El propósito de este seminario fue mostrar las actividades de diferentes consulados colombianos en los Estados Unidos, destacando sus logros, las organizaciones con las que colaboran y otros consulados latinoamericanos que ayudan a sus comunidades.

En esta ocasión, Julian Santiago Ramón, Director de Operaciones de la HHCGA, habló en nombre de nuestra organización ante la Cónsul General de Colombia en Atlanta, Adriana Castiblanco, y el equipo de Colombia Nos Une. Santiago destacó los logros alcanzados en colaboración con el Consulado de Colombia en Atlanta.

"En menos de 2 años ya se han realizado más de 17 ferias de salud y eso es algo increíble [...] porque todo esto es gratuito para la comunidad. Ellos no pagan ni un solo centavo. Nosotros no preguntamos nada. Las personas que vengan de los 7 estados, que son muchísimas, pueden recibir estos servicios que hacemos con el consulado."

Nuestra asociación con el Consulado de Colombia comenzó en noviembre de 2022. Desde entonces, hemos realizado otros eventos conjuntos, como las celebraciones del Día de la Independencia, el Día de las Velitas, y el consulado ha participado en nuestra Fiesta de Salud del Mes de la Herencia Hispana. Además, la HHCGA organiza un promedio de 60 ferias de salud al año, ampliando nuestro alcance y asegurando que más personas reciban los servicios esenciales que necesitan.


Contar con socios comunitarios como el Consulado de Colombia es fundamental para nuestra misión. El consulado, al compartir su espacio para que proporcionemos recursos de salud durante los eventos, permite que la HHCGA, con todos nuestros promotores, recursos, vacunas, socios y doctores, pueda llevar a cabo estas ferias de salud. Trabajamos arduamente para alcanzar los siete estados fronterizos con Georgia y ampliar el acceso a la salud de los latinos en Estados Unidos.

Estas colaboraciones no solo nos permiten ampliar nuestro alcance y ofrecer mejores servicios a un mayor número de personas, sino que también fortalecen los lazos dentro de la comunidad, asegurando que todos tengan acceso a los recursos que proporcionamos. La cooperación con el Consulado de Colombia es un ejemplo claro de cómo, al trabajar juntos, podemos lograr un impacto significativo en nuestras comunidades hispanas y latinas.
